Armenian surgeons save man’s life in first-ever carotid artery surgery

Armenian doctors have performed a first-of-its-kind surgery to save the life of a 68-year-old man, tackling various problems on his left and right common carotid arteries.

No such surgery had been performed in Armenia, Yerkir Media reports.

After the person’s diagnosis was revealed in Moscow, doctors predicted that the man could expect to live no more than one year.

The patient returned to Armenia with constant vertigo to find out that his life can be saved through a surgery, which has never been performed in Armenia before.

The surgeons decided to lose no more time and take the risk rather than leave the patient in such a condition.
