Indian vice president visits Armenian Genocide memorial in Yerevan

Indian vice president Mohammad Hamid Ansari on Tuesday, April 25 visited Tsitsernakaberd the Armenian Genocide memorial in Yerevan.

Meeting the Indian official at Zvartnots international airport was Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian.

At Tsitsernakaberd, Ansari paid tribute to the memory of the 1.5 million victims of the first genocide of the 20th century, visited the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute and left a note in the memory book.

Also, the vice president planted a fir tree in Tsitsernakaberd's Alley of Memory.

During his three-day visit to Armenia, Ansari will meet with president Serzh Sargsyan, prime minister Karen Karapetyan, as well as foreign minister Nalbandian.
