Kosachev: unilateral proclamation of Kosovo independence to have unpredictable consequences
"Unilateral proclamation of Kosovo independence will create undesirable three precedents. First, the Helsinki Final Act, whish states that European borders can't be changed without consent of all sides concerned. Second, Serbia loses a part of its territory," said Konstantin Kosachev, chairman of the Russian State Duma committee on foreign policy.

It can become a problem for many EU states, which have Kosovo-like autonomies: Scotland, Corsica or northern Cyprus, according to him.

"Consequences will be unpredictable. Kosovo's secession conflicts with UN 1244 resolution, which determines Serbia's territory. Neither Moscow nor Beijing will agree this move. We do not need an indispensable solution by December 10," Kosachev said in an interview with Handelsblatt.
