Stephen King’s "The Dark Tower" unveils 1st trailer

Sony Pictures Entertainment debuts the first trailer for "The Dark Tower". The upcoming science fantasy Western horror film is directed and co-written by Nikolaj Arcel, based on the series of novels of the same name by Stephen King, AceShowbiz said.

In the trailer, a young boy named Jake Chambers, played by Tom Taylor, is caught in the battle of good-vs-evil between the Gunslinger a.k.a. Roland Deschain, played by Idris Elba, and a vicious sorcerer named Walter Padick, played by Matthew McConaughey. Roland (Idris) is later accompanied by Jake on a quest to reach the "Dark Tower" that resides in End-World and reach the nexus point between time and space that he hopes will save all existence from extinction.

"The Dark Tower" was initially scheduled to be released on February 17, however, it was recently pushed back to August 4, switching places with Sony Pictures Animation's "The Emoji Movie".
