Sergei Minasyan: Kars-Akhalkalaki-Baku to have no impact on Armenia
"European Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner's statement on refusal to support Kars-Akhalkalaki-Baku railroad project is not a novelty. Both EU and U.S. were always against the project," assistant director of the Caucasus Media Institute, political scientist Sergei Minasyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. "The matter is not that they like Armenia but that they sincerely wish to normalize regional cooperation."

As to Georgia, it joined to project 'just to do something', according to him. "Understanding that the link will inflict losses on its ports, Georgia, nevertheless, agreed to the project, while Azerbaijan and Turkey are hopeful to strangle Armenia. The KAB is a geopolitical myth. Armenia is not connected with the project. It will have impact on us. $600 mln meant for the project could be spent on more useful initiatives," Sergei Minasyan said.
