Armenia: No progress on Karabakh possible without atmosphere of trust

No progress can be registered in the process of settling the Nagorno Karabakh conflict unless an atmosphere of trust is established between the parties, Armenia’s deputy foreign minister Shavarsh Kocharyan told reporters on Thursday, June 8.

Weighing in on the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs’ upcoming visit to the region, Kocharyan said the Armenian side is expecting the envoys to have the previously reached agreements implemented.

According to him, an atmosphere of trust eliminates shootings and sabotages, Aysor.am reports.

The Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers - Edward Nalbandian, Sergey Lavrov and Elmar Mammadyarov – held a working meeting in Moscow on April 28.

At the meeting, the officials continued discussions on the prospects of the Karabakh conflict settlement talks, stressing the need to implement the agreements reached at the Vienna and St. Petersburg summits in April and June 2016.
