European Commission calls on Karabakh conflicts sides to support trust-building measures
"Determination of Kosovo's status is individual and cannot be a precedent for settlement of other conflicts, including the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," said Benita Ferrero-Waldner, the European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighborhood Policy.

EU official Wolfgang Ischinger said recently that West does not rule out that Kosovo may be divided into at least two administrative and territorial units.

"EU's position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is clear: we support the mediatory efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group and encourage Azerbaijan and Armenia to completely use its potential for peaceful negotiations," she said.

According to Ms. Waldner, the European Commission calls on the sides to support trust-building measures and is ready to render assistance in reconstruction of Nagorno Karabakh in case the sides come to an agreement.

"It is necessary now for the sides to undertake settlement of the problem through talks," she said, Trend reports.
