Lavrov: Kosovo to become precedent for unrecognized republics in post-soviet space
"Decision of Kosovo's status will set an international precedent for other breakaway regions, including those in the former Soviet Union," Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after the Russia-NATO Council's session in Brussels.

"Those, who wish to play with international law, the UN Regulations and the Helsinki Final Act should think thoroughly before setting foot on a slippery path that can be pregnant with unforeseeable consequences and jeopardize Europe's stability," he said.

The Russian Minister urged not to block talks and let the sides arrive at a position admissible for both sides, RIA Novosti reports.
