Spokesman for the Republican Party (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov says subsiding party ratings are natural after the parliamentary elections held across Armenia on April 2, Aravot.am reports.

Gallup International Association had cited opinion polls which revealed a drop in the ratings of various political parties, including the RPA following the nationwide vote in spring.

Sharmazanov assured that party ratings surge during election processes all over the world and drop after they are over.

According to the RPA spokesman, it’s too early to speak about whether the parliamentary system of government has failed since the country will make a full transition after April 2018.

Similarly, he said, even if the parties' ratings rose, the parliamentary system couldn't still be defined as a successful shift.

Gallup International Association had also registered a decline in prime minister Karen Karapetyan’s ratings, which, according to Sharmazanov, is natural too.
