Putin signs law on joint Russia-Armenia military group

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed into law a bill on the ratification of the agreement between Russia and Armenia about a Joint group of troops (forces) of the Armed Forces of the two countries.

The agreement, signed in Moscow on November 30, 2016, was ratified by Russia’s State Duma on July 14 and by Federation Council on July 19.

Under the agreement, the single division of troops is supervised by the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces in peacetime, and may fall under Russian's command in a war situation.
