Iranian Azeris protest establishment of Armenian Consulate in Tabriz
The national movement of Southern Azerbaijan has circulated a statement in protest against establishment of Armenian Consulate in Tabriz. The statement describes the event as 'an insult to Azerbaijani nation' and calls 'to prevent hoisting of Armenian flag in Tabriz', 1news.az. reports.
On January 15, the Iranian Cabinet gave green light to establishment of Armenian Consulate General in Tabriz. The issue was discussed during the visit of Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Yerevan. Besides, the two states agreed to open Iranian Consulate in Kapan.
