The secret video footage the family and friends of the late Princess Diana’s family unsuccessfully begged not be broadcast in the UK will be shown in Australia, News.com.au reveals.

The video footage from Diana’s speech lessons with voice coach Peter Settelen sees her speaking about her sex life and marriage.

It created furore in the UK, and made world headlines when the documentary, "Diana: In Her Own Words" aired on Britain’s Channel 4 this week.

Channel 4 was labelled “exploitative” and Settelen was slammed for taking “grubby money” by friends of Diana. Her brother pleaded the tapes not be shown.

Channel Seven will screen the Channel 4 documentary in what it is billing as an ‘exclusive special’ on it’s flagship current affairs program Sunday Night later this month.

The documentary received a mixed reception when it aired in the UK earlier this week, with some royal experts saying the revelations would wreck Prince Charles’ dream of having Camilla as Queen.

The documentary featured Diana telling how husband Charles would not give up his then-mistress Camilla Parker Bowles during their marriage because he “refused to be the only Prince of Wales never to have a mistress”.

“This is a blow. I shouldn’t think anyone at Clarence House dared watch it,” Ingrid Seward told The Sun.

In the wake of the broadcast, Diana’s ex-private secretary Patrick Jephson said there had been a “sustained campaign” to promote Camilla’s suitability as a Queen alongside King Charles.

Veteran Sun royal photographer Arthur Edwards said the documentary would be a blow to Charles’s two-decade struggle to win back public approval.

He added: “This could be a problem.”
