Turkish army bombs northern Iraq
The Turkish warplanes bombarded Hakurk, N.Iraq, on Tuesday evening, NTV channel reported quoting a source in the Kurdish administration.

Turkish warplanes carried out air strikes on rebels' facilities at the Turkish-Iranian border for some two hours. No casualties have been reported yet. The Turkish General Staff has provided no confirmation either, Trend reports.

In October 2007, the Turkish parliament approved cross-border operations in northern Iraq to fight outlawed PKK rebels.

The General Staff said at least 175 rebels and 60 targets have been eliminated in the January 15 strike.
