More than 209,000 Armenians traveled to neighboring Georgia in July, 2017, Gruzia Online reports citing the country's national tourism administration.

Armenians thus are second in terms of the number of foreigners preferring the South Caucasus country for leisure.

Russian citizens take the first spot, while Azerbaijanis (more than 190,000 in the reporting period) come in third.

According to statistics, there were 1496 hotels in Georgia in 2016. Of these, 99.5% were private, and 0.5% state-owned. More than 270 hotels opened in Georgia last year alone.

Georgian hotels accommodated 2.5 million guests in 2016, up by 37% against the previous year.
