Tesla CEO Elon Musk has predicted that artificial intelligence (AI) will be the cause of World War Three.

Musk’s comments come after Russian president Vladimir Putin said that “artificial intelligence is the future, not only for Russia, but for all humankind.”

“China, Russia, soon all countries w strong computer science. Competition for AI superiority at national level most likely cause of WW3 imo,” the Tesla chief said in a tweet..

The billionaire has previously suggested that the emerging technology poses an even greater risk to the world than a nuclear conflagration with North Korea.

“If you're not concerned about AI safety, you should be. Vastly more risk than North Korea,” he said in an earlier tweet.
