German-based Armenian boxer Arman Torosyan will face Britain's Martin Murray on the undercard of the World Boxing Super Series quarter-final contest between Callum Smith and Erik Skoglund, for the vacant WBC Diamond super-middleweight title, at the ECHO Arena in Liverpool.
Torosyan is coming off the back of a shock knockout victory over Danish prospect Abdul Khattab, and says he is confident of causing another upset when he enters the ring on September 16.
‘’I think Murray is a good fighter, but I believe his time is over,’’ said Torosyan, who trains in Berlin alongside Arthur Abraham, the former two-weight World Champion, who inflicted Murray’s third World title defeat. ’’I am in great shape and I think the audience will see a great fight. I would like to thank Martin Murray for accepting me as an opponent, but I will make him regret it.’’
Murray was most recently in action at the same venue back in April when he outpointed Gabriel Rosado.
