Israeli lawmakers visit Armenian Genocide memorial

A delegation of Israeli lawmakers headed by vice speaker of Knesset Tali Ploskov visited the Armenian Genocide memorial in Yerevan.

Accompanying the guests were head of Israel-Armenia friendship group Gagik Minasyan, as well as MPs Mikayel Melkumyan, Gagik Melikyan, Gevorg Gorgisyan, and deputy director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Suren Manukyan.

The members of the delegation laid a wreath at the memorial to pay tribute to the memory of the 1.5 million innocent victims of the Genocide, perpetrated at the hands of the Ottoman Empire.

Also, the guests visited the Museum-Institute and left notes in the book of memories.

Some three dozen countries, as well as hundreds of local government bodies and international organizations have so far recognized the Armenian Genocide. Israel and Turkey deny to this day.
