Levon Aronian storms into quarter-finals at World Chess Cup

Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian stormed into the quarter-finals at the World Chess Cup, currently underway in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The tiebreak against Daniil Dubov from Russia lasted five hours after the two drew the matches in the 1/8 elimination round.

Meanwhile, world champion Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura and Vladimir Kramnik have already been left out of the tournament.
