Hearsay on great number of victims spread by Ter-Petrosyan's supporters
8 people died in the disorders that raged in Yerevan on March 1 and 2. Reports about dead pregnant women and children are false, RA President's spokesman Victor Soghomonyan told a news conference.

"These rumors are being spread about by Ter-Petrosyan's supporters," he said.

As to the statements that Levon Ter-Petrosyan is under house arrest, Mr Soghomonyan said, "The former President is free to leave his residence and go wherever he wants. However, his life is in jeopardy and guards do not recommend his to go out. Levon Ter-Petrosyan was offered to waive
the guard and leave his apartments, but he refused."
