Armenia's representative in UN: Azeri resolution undermined Karabakh peaceful process
The UN General Assembly's resolution "on immediate withdrawal of Armenian forces from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan" will undermine the peaceful process, said Armen Martirosyan, Armenia's permanent representative in the UN.

"Impartial and responsible mediators found that the document doesn't contribute to peaceful talks. Furthermore, it conflicts with the fundamental international norms and is an attempt to sabotage the peaceful process," Armen Martirosyan said, RIA Novosti reports.

With 39 votes in favor, 7 against and 100 abstentions, the UN General Assembly adopted a text that also called for "continued respect and support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan."

The document was pushed through the vote owing to support of the Organization of Islamic Conference represented by Pakistan's envoy Munir Akram.

UN General Assembly's resolutions are non-binding.
