Catholicos of All Armenians invited Pope to Armenia
During a visit to Italy, Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Garegin II invited Pope Benedict XVI to Armenia.
"The Armenian people will be happy to welcome you to Holy Echmiadzin where we can offer up our prayers," His Holiness said.
Garegin II arrived in Vatican last Tuesday with a purpose to strengthen relations and cooperation between the Catholic Church and the Armenian Apostolic Church.
On May 7, his Holiness was conferred the rank of Honorable Doctor of Salesian Pontifical University, RIA Novosti reports.
