14 years passed since signing of armistice agreement in Karabakh
Former Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Ambassador Vladimir Kazimirov issued an article in Vremya Novostey newspaper.

"In contrary to other conflicts, talks have been resumed on Nagorno Karabkah. On May 6, 2008 the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan met in Strasbourg to get acquainted with each other and certainly to outline a presidential meeting, probably in June. Baku is not in hurry, watching the domestic problems in Armenia," he writes.

"The meetings resumed on the threshold of a remarkable date. The armistice agreement was signed on May 12, 1994. Russian mediation produced effect. The agreement was signed by Azeri Defense Minister Mamedrafi Mammadov, his Armenian counterpart, currently the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan and Karabakhi army commander Samvel Babayan.

The indefinite-term agreement was approved by the people. Presently, armistice is the most significant achievement during the conflict period," Amb. Kazimirov concluded.
