CSTO Sec Gen: any attempt to resolve conflicts by use of force doomed to failure
If Azerbaijan decided to join the CSTO, the country's policy would aim at strengthening of collective security and development of cooperation with all member states, CSTO Secretary General said.

"All CSTO member states could promote resolution of urgent problem by closely watching international developments and making proper conclusions. Any attempt to resolve conflicts by use of force doomed to failure," Nikolay Bordyuzha said.

According to Bordyuzha, CSTO member states stand for peaceful resolution of all conflicts, even in most complicated situations. If irrational approaches prevail, the CSTO will take action on the basis of its Regulations and proceeding from peculiarity of the situation," he said when commenting on Azerbaijan's intention to resolve the Nagorno Karabakh conflict by use of force.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization brings together Russia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan suspended their participation in 1999. The latter, however, intends to return to the CSTO.
