Ameriabank revealed on Monday, December 10 that it now allows customers to open a bank account remotely "within five minutes."

According to the new offer, Armenian residents can now become customers of the bank without visiting the financial institution by opening a SMART account free of charge. At the same time, they can acquire Visa/MasterCard payment cards and online banking solutions, again, free of charge.

Grigor Davtyan, Head of Digital Channels at Ameriabank, said that they prioritize the development of remote banking services and come up with better digital solutions all the time.

"Studying public behavior on online sites, we decided to develop a service that makes basic banking services available in minutes with minimal data required. We also decided to use selfies in the banking sector, combining a fascinating activity with a useful business," Davtyan said.

To open a SMART account, customers need to have an identity documents (passport or ID card), a social security card, a smartphone with access to Interenet or a computer with a video card.
