Cher receives 2018 Kennedy Center Honors

Cher was at a loss for words after Adam Lambert’s performance of her 1998 Hot 100 chart topper “Believe” at the 2018 Kennedy Center Honors, Billboard reports.

In recognition of the over-the-top diva, Lambert turned the iconic dance club staple into a soulful ballad.

“Tried 2 write Feelings About Adam Lambert Singing Believe In Words, but Cant seem 2.When Your senses are Overwhelmed All Can you feel with your [heart emoji],” Cher tweeted following the telecast.

The ceremony took place earlier in the month, but was broadcast Wednesday night (Dec. 28) on CBS. Reba McEntire, composer Philip Glass, jazz sax player Wayne Shorter and Broadway’s Hamilton were also honored at the ceremony.
