Armenian PM rules out conspiracy in Karabakh process

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday, January 23 revealed some details from his conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Davos.

Pashinyan said in a live broadcast on Facebook that there can be no conspiracy over the Karabakh conflict.

He said the meeting with Aliyev was not planned beforehand.

"This is our third meeting with Ilham Aliyev, and previous meetings were not planned either. In recent months, we have had discussions with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs that when an event is arranged with our participation, [such] meetings should not be avoided. These are informal meetings, they cannot be considered the official start of negotiations," Pashinyan said.

As reported earlier, Pashinyan had an informal meeting with Aliyev in Switzerland on Tuesday. According to the government, the two exchanged views on the current situation around Nagorno Karabakh peace process and future steps.
