Vanes Martirosyan retires from boxing, eyes coaching career

Armenian-American professional boxer Vanes Martirosyan announced his retirement in a tweet on Monday, February 4.

"I am retired from boxing thanks to Don King and everybody at Don King," Martirosyan said referring to the famous American boxing promoter.

"I have much more to give to the sport. I’m not getting any younger. I will be coaching boxing from now on. I'm retired from fighting, thanks Don."

Martirosyan challenged twice for a light middleweight world title, in 2013 and 2016, and held the WBC Silver light middleweight title from 2011 to 2012.
