Armenia assumes CSTO presidency
Armenia has assumed presidency in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
"One of the most important outcomes of the session is a unanimous position on the situation in Caucasus," Russian President Dmitry Medvedev told a news conference.
"All the member countries condemned Georgia's aggression against South Ossetia and supported Russia's counterblow," he said. "Russia stands for political and diplomatic resolution of all conflicts but it will firmly defend its interests."
For his part, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said, "We are all members of this Organization and we must strengthen our military cooperation and coordinate activities."
