August 2008 events revealed Caucasus vulnerability
The August 2008 events revealed vulnerability of the Caucasus, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

"Georgia is very important for us, since it ensures transit of 70 per cent of Armenia's commodity turnover. 350 thousand of Armenians live in Georgia. At the same time, we are Russia's strategic ally. Despite certain differences, we managed to avoid actions which could be taken for hostility," he said, adding, "The war changed much throughout the region but the Russian-Armenian relations were not damaged."
