Armenian men's chess team leads Chess Olympiad in Dresden
The Armenian chess players scored a 2,5:1,5 victory over the Russian team in the 7th round of the Chess Olympiad in Dresden.

As reported by the Chess Federation of Armenia, Levon Aronyan-Vladimir Kramnik, Tigran Petrosyan-Dmitry Yakovenko and Vladimir Hakobyan-Peter Svidler games ended in a draw while Gabriel Sargsyan defeated Alexander Grischuk, thus bringing victory to the Armenian team.

So, Armenia completed the 7th round with 13 points; Germany, Israel and France with 12 points; Russia, Ukraine, China, Vietnam and U.S. with 11 points; Azerbaijan, Romania, India, Serbia, Greece, Poland, Slovenia, Turkey, Belarus, Slovakia, Croatia and New Zeland with 10 points.

In the 8th round, the Armenian team with meet with the French chess players.
