Iran taboos Turkic names and New Year festivities
Shops and restaurants with Turkic names in Tabriz, Iran, received Persian names lately. Turk restaurant was renamed into Ertak; Istanbul market became Rman, for example.

New Year festivities were banned. Students, who decorated a fir in one of youth clubs, were warned against conduction of any events, while the club was smashed up by the police, 1news.az reports.
