Kim Kardashian wants world to react to Azeri violence against Armenia

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian West has urged the international community to intervene in the escalation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, informing her 179 million Instagram followers that Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense has threatened to bomb Armenia.

"Despite an ongoing global pandemic, Azerbaijan has violated the UN's appeal for global ceasefire by unprovoked attacks against the Republic of Armenia," she wrote on her Instagram Story.

"In the meantime, congressional amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act will be voted on next week to ensure that the US does not enable Azerbaijan with military aid that would be used against Armenia and Artsakh," she further explained.

She then urged the international community to "pay attention and intervene" with political and diplomatic measures to "prevent unnecessary escalation and the loss of human life."

Kardashian expressed her support for her fellow Armenians and prayed for those "involved in recent tensions on the border of the country."

"I urge for a peaceful resolution for these unprovoked attacks during this already very difficult pandemic," she concluded, before encouraging her fans to call their senators and representatives, in support of Armenia.

Since the situation escalated on the border on July 12, Azerbaijan has launched three unsuccessful infiltration attempts. Since the next morning, the Azerbaijani military has been firing on the Armenian positions, also using large caliber grenade launchers and combat drones to target civilian homes in several border settlements. Four servicemen of the Armenian army have been killed, while Azerbaijan has reported 12 deaths.
