President of the Armenian parliament Ararat Mirzoyan has communicated the details of Azerbaijan's aggression on the border with Armenia to the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, George Tsereteli.

According to a press release from Friday, July 17, Mirzoyan has briefed Tsereteli about Azerbaijan's shelling of civilian infrastructure and homes, kindergartens, as well as its threat to strike the Metsamor nuclear power plant in Armenia.

Mirzoyan also drew the OSCE official's attention to statements coming from Turkey, which he said pose a threat of destabilization for the entire region.

The President of the National Assembly confirmed Armenia's willingness to settle the conflict peacefully and added that the Armenian side is ready to make every effort to ensure the security of the Armenian citizens.

The situation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan escalated on July 12, with Azerbaijan having launched three unsuccessful infiltration attempts since that day. The Azerbaijani military has also been firing on the Armenian positions, and using large caliber grenade launchers and combat drones to target civilian homes in several border settlements. Four servicemen of the Armenian army have been killed, while Azerbaijan has reported 12 deaths.
