Armenia unveils photos of debris from downed Azerbaijani drones

Armenia has unveiled pictures of debris from Azerbaijani drones shot down during the recent escalation on the border between the two countries.

"Beautiful, aren't they?" head of Armenia's Crisis Information Center Artsrun Hovhannisyan captured the pictures on Facebook.

Harutyunyan said in comments that none of the drones in the images is the Hermes-900 UAV downed by Armenian troops.

Throughout the five days of border unrest, the Armenian side has downed a total of 14 Azerbaijani drones, including a super expensive Hermes-900 drone, produced by Israel's Elbit Systems, while Nagorno Karabakh troops have downed an Orbiter-3, made by Aeronautics Systems, another Israeli firm.

Also in recent days, the Armenian Armed Forces have come into possession of a Skystriker drone produced by Israel and operated by the Azerbaijani military.

The situation on the border between the two countries escalated on July 12, with Azerbaijan launching three unsuccessful infiltration attempts in the next four days. The Azerbaijani military also used large caliber grenade launchers and combat drones to target civilian homes in several border settlements in Armenia. Four servicemen of the Armenian army were killed, while Azerbaijan reported 12 deaths.

Armenian Defense Ministry spokeswoman Shushan Stepanyan said in a Facebook post on Monday, July 20 that the situation on border between Armenia and Azerbaijan was relatively calm overnight.
