Georgia on Tuesday, September 8 reported its biggest jump in the number of new coronavirus infections with 45 cases reported in the past day
The country has announced 1729 Covid-19 cases, including 19 deaths and 1321 recoveries, since the beginning of the outbreak.
According to fresh figures from Georgia's health authorities, a total of 5882 individuals are under quarantine, while 390 others are watched by doctors.
Under a recent government decision, people are now required to stay in quarantine for 12 days instead of the previous 14.
Also, travelers arriving in Georgia must have a negative coronavirus test result to be allowed in the country and will be obliged to take fresh Covid-19 tests every 72 hours throughout 12 days.
