An Azerbaijani drone was shot down in the skies of Armenia on Friday, October 23, Armenian Defense Ministry spokeswoman Shushan Stepanyan reports.

“Recently, the air defense units of the Armenian Armed Forces shot down an enemy UAV in the north-eastern direction of the Republic of Armenia,” she wrote on Facebook on Friday evening.

Stepanyan also published photos of the downed drone.

Judging by the wreckage, the UAV manufactured by Azad Systems, a joint Israeli-Azerbaijani production.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and Syrian and Libyan mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
