Turkey looking for its place in Middle East
Turkey is looking for its place in Middle East, an Armenian expert said.

"Despite the intention to join the European Union, it tries to fortify its positions as a regional power," Director of Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan told a news conference on Friday.

"Prime Minister Tayyip Ergogan's recent demarche in Davos has worked for both domestic and foreign policies. Turkeys is facing elections. With anti-Israeli policy, the AK ruling party tries to gain dividends," he said.

At the same time, Iskandaryan emphasized that Ankara and Tel Aviv understand need each other.

"Tensions will ease after the March elections in Turkey," he said.
