Karabakh towns shelled by Azerbaijan again overnight

Azerbaijan again targeted peaceful residents and civilian infrastructure at dawn, shelling Martuni and Shushi with various calibre weapons, the State Service for Emergency Situations reported on Thursday, November 5.

Information on possible casualties are still being clarified.

During the night of November 4 and the early hours of November 5, the situation along the entire frontline remained stable but tense. The Azerbaijani forces showed some activity on the eastern, southeastern, and southern fronts. Their offensive groups made several attempts that were successfully repelled by Defence Army units. Azerbaijan suffered serious losses in personnel and military equipment.

Two Azerbaijani offensive groups attempted an attack on the southern front as well, but they were spotted in time and destroyed by army units. Throughout the day, the civilian settlements of Artsakh were continuously targeted with rockets and artillery.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and terrorist mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
