Armenia: Unclear what Azeris were think of when recruiting militants

Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said on Thursday, November 5 It is not clear what authorities in Azerbaijan were thinking of when they decided to involve the militants in the Karabakh conflict, since they pose a threat not only to the region.

“The appearance of terrorists in our region is a challenge in a much broader context, and not just for us. The consequences are really serious,” Mnatsakanyan said.

According to the Foreign Minister, the Armenian people of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) are actually fighting against three enemies – Turkey, terrorist mercenaries and Azerbaijan.

Mnatsakanyan noted that one of the main directions of the Foreign Ministry's activitը is the fight against terrorism․ The Minister added that the details will be announced in the near future.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and terrorist mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
