80 local and foreign journalists are trapped in Stepanakert, Nagorno-Karabakh's capital as they can't reach Armenia without risking their lives under fire from Azeri forces, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) said Thursday, November 5.

"RSF calls on the UN, Council of Europe and Azerbaijan to do everything possible to allow the evacuation of civilians," the organization said in a tweet.

Since the beginning of hostilities on September 27, Azerbaijan has been shelling civilian settlements and infrastructure, which has resulted in at least 50 deaths and more than 150 injures among the peaceful population. International and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri attacks on towns and cities.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and terrorist mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
