The agreement between Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan to end the war in Nagorno-Karabakh will unblock the economic and transport links of the region, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday, November 5.

In a statement published in the early hours of Tuesday, Putin said control over transport communications will be carried out, inter alia, with the assistance of the Russian Border Service.

Internally displaced persons and refugees will be returning to the territory of Karabakh and the surrounding areas, under the control of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the Russian President added.

Karabakh (Artsakh) President Arayik Harutyunyan said on Tuesday that he has agreed to the deal signed by Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan to end the war in Karabakh.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and terrorist mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
