Pashinyan, Macron discuss Karabakh over the phone

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed the situation in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) with President of France Emmanuel Macron over the phone on Thursday, November 19, his office reports.

Both sides stressed the need to resume the work of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs in full format. They referred to the issue of ensuring safe repatriation for tens of thousands of people who have fled their homes in recent weeks and preserving the religious, historical and cultural heritage of Artsakh.

The need to maintain peace and defuse the situation in the region was emphasized on both sides. In this regard, the Prime Minister noted the fundamental importance of international recognition of Artsakh.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev have signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Karabakh (Artsakh) President Arayik Harutyunyan has said he has agreed to the deal signed by Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan.
