The Armed Forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan have specified the de facto deployment of temporary military checkpoints in order to carry out combat duty on the border, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said Friday, November 27.

"Demarcation and delimitation of the state border is a long-lasting and complex process carried out by joint interdepartmental commissions and working groups through the interstate negotiations followed by signing relevant international documents," the statement reads.

The Armenian public was confused by videos allegedly showing Azeri troops near the Sotk gold mine which lies both side of the border. The Defense Ministry, however, denied that the Azerbaijani soldiers had entered the premises of the mine and demanded that employees leave the area.
