Armenia supports "all for all" principle in POW swap with Azerbaijan

Armenia supports the principle of "all in exchange for all" when it comes to the swap of prisoners of war between Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan said at a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin on Wednesday, December 2.

The "all for all" principle was earlier raised by the Azerbaijani side.

Avinyan also called for creating a mechanism for the immediate repatriation of captives without preconditions, if such cases happen in the future.

Ambassador Kopyrkin said, in turn, that issues of prisoners of war, the search for the missing and the bodies of the dead are in the center of attention of Russia's top leadership.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side is returning all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
