Kapan airport ready for operation, says Armenia aviation authority

The Syunik airport in the southern Armenian town of Kapan has completed its certification process, the press service of the Civil Aviation Committee reports.

According to the country's aviation authority, the artificial surface of the runway has been completely repaired, a new terminal complex has been built, and a fresh fence that meets international standards has been constructed.

The certification process was in line with the requirement of legislation and international standards. The airport can host aircraft with a seating capacity of up to 19 passenger, such as the L-410 plane.

The Committee sad the newly developed take-off and landing schemes do not provide for the use of Azerbaijan's airspace.
