The Office of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Human Rights Defender has found out that during the search and rescue work in the village of Vardashat, Hadrut region, the body of an 80-year-old woman identified as Nina Davityan was discovered.

Ombudsman Artak Beglaryan said Friday, December 18 that the woman's identity will be finally established after a DNA test.

Davityan and her husband, Davit Davityan, lagged behind their fellow villagers during evacuation. She was killed by Azerbaijani officers, apparently after receiving gunshot wounds to the chest and right hand. The examination of her body also showed that some parts of her scull had been broken.

Beglaryan said no information is available about the whereabouts of the husband.
