Armenian soldiers wounded in Azerbaijan's war against Nagorno-Karabakh will have modern bionic prosthetic arms, according to lawmaker Narek Mkrtchyan from the ruling My Step bloc.

"In collaboration with the Homeland Defender's Rehabilitation Center, which will soon host a modern lab for Dutch-German prosthetics (in cooperation with a top Dutch prosthetics company OIM Orthopedie ), funded by Hayastan All Armenian Fund and its partner Vereniging Armeniefonds Nederland, we are starting an arms prosthetics project for our soldiers," Mkrtchyan said.

"It is a great pleasure to inform you that with the help of my colleagues from Iceland I have reached an agreement with Össur, a leading prosthetics company, which will deliver high-tech i-Limbs to us."

According to Mkrtchyan, an experienced specialist from the company will be working with the Armenian team to help them pull off the fitting process correctly.

"In parallel with Össur, we have reached an agreement to buy modern BeBionic hand prosthetics from Ottobock, a German-Dutch venture."

The lawmaker promised details about an upcoming fundraiser, as well as the organizations and individuals who have already expressed their readiness to make donations for the implementation of the project.
