Armenia denies reports about resumption of hostilities in Hadrut

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia has denied media reports about the alleged resumption of hostilities in Hadrut region of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

"A number of Azerbaijani media outlets report on the resumption of hostilities between the Armenian and the Azerbaijani militaries in the vicinity of the village of Togh in Hadrut. There are also reports of fatalities and injuries on both sides," the Armenian Defense Ministry said Sunday, December 27.

The Defense Ministry reminded that the village of Togh is under the full control of the Azeri forces.

"The Artsakh Defense Army strictly adheres to the ceasefire, no unit has taken part in any actions in this area. Moreover, no emergencies involving the Artsakh Defense Army have been recorded," the Armenian Defense Ministry said.

"Nevertheless, the Armenian side is trying to obtain more information, not ruling out the possibility that we are dealing with an Azerbaijani information provocation."

The Azerbaijani media reported earlier about a shootout between Armenian and Azerbaijani servicemen near the village of Togh in Hadrut, as a result of which 6 people had allegedly been killed and wounded from the Armenian side, with 5 wounded from the Azerbaijani side.
