Four more Armenian POWs return from Azerbaijan

Four Armenian prisoners of war have returned to the Armenian side from Azerbaijan with the mediation of Russia and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan said Monday, December 28.

The relatives and family members of the POWs have already been informed about their return, the Deputy Prime Minister said.

"The prisoners are now under the supervision of doctors and will receive the necessary medical, and moral and psychological assistance. The process of prisoner exchange will continue," Avinyan said.

The first batch of 44 Armenian captives landed in Yerevan on December 14, in what authorities described as the first day of POW exchange. At least 60 people are still being held by Azerbaijan, according to various sources.
