New homes will be built for Syunik residents who lost their houses

New houses will be built for the residents of the villages of Vorotan and Shurnukh in Armenia's Syunik province after part of the territory of the communities went under Azerbaijan's control and some families lost their homes, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan said Friday, January 29.

Avinyan held meetings in both communities during his working trip to the southern province of Syunik.

"Each member of each family that has lost their home will also receive a one-off assistance in the amount of AMD 300,000 (about $600),” Avinyan wrote on his Facebook page.

In addition, members of those families will receive monthly social assistance in the amount of the country's minimum wage at least for six months.
